Subject: Lutheran Care Center Child Care Tour of Library

School age children from the Lutheran Care Center Child Care Center recently spent about two hours at the Altamont Public Library.  Beth Speers, Librarian, provided a tour of the library to the 10 students.  In honor of Presidents' Day, she read several books about various presidents.

The students were then divided into 4 groups for a 'library scavenger hunt' to find information in the library about the 43 men who have held the office of president.

The students worked in their groups with the reference books until all of the info had been gathered.  Once the information was available, the students constructed a 'Tree of Presidents" with each president's info on a leaf. The leaves were glued to the branches.

Each student received a bookmark and took the project that they had created back to the center. Below are photos from the Library tour.
