NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release: August 2, 2007 Contact: Beth Speers, Altamont Public Library Librarian Subject: Let the Altamont Public Library make back to school easier It's school time again! Your children are probably feeling excited and maybe a little sad that summer is over. Some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends, and maybe even a new school. Luckily, these "new" worries only stick around for a little while. Here are a few final tips for a fantastic beginning of the school year:
Reading with children and helping them practice specific reading components can dramatically improve their ability to read. Adults can help children learn to be good readers. It just takes a little effort on the part of parents, and a few good library books. Altamont Public Library librarians are ready to help you with any of your school projects. The Altamont Public Library’s hours are: Monday-Wednesday 2-7 p.m.; Thursday 5-8; Friday 2-6 p.m.; and Saturday 9-1. For more information on the Altamont Public Library call 618-483-5457 or go to www.altamontpubliclibrary.com. |
