Subject: April 2008 Altamont Public Library Board of Directors meeting
The Altamont
Public Library Board recently met on April 14, 2008. On the agenda was equipment
replacement, Library State Digital Technology Grant, and staff evaluations and
annual salary review.
The list of
bills to be paid for April was presented. These bills included charges for
books, anniversary open house expenses, utilities, basic library supplies, and
internet filter. All financial reports are due by May 12 for auditing.
Beth Speers,
Librarian, gave a brief overview of the March’s circulation figures, which
included our service of interlibrary loans. In March, there were a total of 222
books and items borrowed, and 272 loaned through the Shawnee Library System
interlibrary loan program. Over 1,300 people used the library during March and
over 1,600 items were checked out. Over 950 resident and non-resident library
cards are currently active.
The 2009 Illinois Library Digital
Technology Grant will be applied for to get a microfiche printer.
The library board broke into closed session
to discuss annual staff evaluations and salaries. The library board appreciates
the dedication and knowledge of the three part-time library staff.
