Subject: March 2008 Altamont Public Library Board of Directors meeting
The Altamont Public
Library Board recently met on March 10, 2008. On the agenda was equipment
replacement, Library State Digital Technology Grant, and final 100th
Anniversary Open House details.
The list of bills to
be paid for March was presented. These bills included charges for books,
utilities, basic library supplies, and workshop mileage.
Beth Speers,
Librarian, gave a brief overview of the February’s circulation figures, which
included our service of interlibrary loans. In February, there were a total of
168 books and items borrowed, and 241 loaned through the Shawnee Library System
interlibrary loan program. Almost 1,200 people used the library during January
and over 1,300 items were checked out. Over 980 resident and non-resident
library cards are currently active.
The 2009 Illinois Library Digital Technology
Grant will be applied for to get a microfiche printer.
Discussion was held on events to celebrate the
100th Anniversary of the Altamont Public Library in 2008. The
Library’s Open House to celebrate it’s 100th Anniversary has been
scheduled for March 29, 2008 from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. The public is encouraged to
attend the Open House and celebrate it’s long history and vision into the
future.
