Subject: Altamont Public Library receives donation

The Altamont Public Library recently received a donation from the Altamont Xi Lambda Nu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.  "We value the services provided by the Altamont Public Library and feel it is a worthy cause," stated Kristine Logue, club secretary.  "Our donations in the past have assisted the library in proving the summer reading program, as well as materials for other programs offered by the library." The Altamont Xi Lambda Nu chapter raise funds throughout the year, with all raised funds donated to support the  community.

 
According to Beth Speers, librarian, "This is a wonderful gift.  The Altamont Xi Lambda Nu chapter has been a dedicated contributor to the library in the past, and we are pleased to receive their gift, especially in these tough economic times when budgets are under pressure.  Their support will enhance the library's efforts to encourage reading, develop reading as a lifelong pleasure, and to assist children in their educational endeavors.  This is another example of the strong community support for the Altamont Public Library. "
